The Maine DOE supports educators by qualifying preparation programs that are research-driven and classroom-based; issuing credentials to persons employed in, or under contract with public schools, and approved private schools; supports ongoing professional development opportunities that enhance and enrich current teaching practices; in addition to a multitude of educator effectiveness initiatives.
